Is there a limit on Streaming or Download bandwidth for my InstaVR Pro account? 2019-10-18T01:03:19+00:00

Yes, InstaVR Pro clients are limited to 500 GB/month of Streaming or Download bandwidth. For the vast majority of clients, this is plenty. If by chance you need more than that amount, we charge rates competitive to cloud suppliers AWS and Cloudflare, starting at $0.10 per GB .

How much does InstaVR charge per app? 2017-12-28T18:15:30+00:00

InstaVR’s subscription model does not require you to pay per app published. Presently, you can package an unlimited number of apps per month with your subscription. You are, however, limited to 100 GB of total uploaded media in your account.

Do InstaVR Pro subscriptions auto-renew? How do I cancel my subscription? 2019-10-18T20:51:09+00:00

Do InstaVR Pro subscriptions auto-renew?

InstaVR, like every major SaaS platform (ie Salesforce, Dropbox, etc), is subscription based and automatically set to renew at the end of the subscription period. This is true for both Monthly and Annual InstaVR Pro subscriptions.

When does your subscription auto-renew?

You can go into your Account info — link in the upper right of your InstaVR Console — to find the exact date. But it will always be either one month minus one day OR one year minus one day from the date of your subscription.

For instance, if you subscribe monthly on December 27th, 2017, your auto-renewal would take place end of day on January 26th, 2018.

If you in the same scenario you subscribed annually, your auto-renewal would take place end of day December 26th, 2018.

How do you prevent your Account from renewing?

In that same Account info section, you can cancel your subscription, deleting your account and apps in the process. You’ll only want to do this after you no longer need account access and your apps working. So it makes sense to put a calendar reminder for yourself if you anticipate not using InstaVR at a certain date. More info here: https://help.instavr.co/hc/en-us/articles/115005027714-How-to-unsubscribe-from-InstaVR-Pro-Services-

What if I want my apps to work after I cancel my InstaVR Pro subscription?

You can purchase what is called a “No Watermark Add-On” for any projects you need to remain hosted and live after your subscription period. The cost is  one-time $699 per project fee for the apps that need to remain live/working. More info here: https://help.instavr.co/hc/en-us/articles/360001511693-How-to-use-an-app-without-any-error-when-InstaVR-account-is-deleted-on-completion-of-PRO-subscription-

If I forget to cancel my subscription, can I get a refund after an auto-renewal?

Unfortunately, no. InstaVR pays licensing fees to a variety of partners (for authoring, licensing & cloud storage) at the time of inception of Pro subscription, as well as upon renewals. So there’s no possibility of refund. Again, that’s why we suggest marking on your calendar relevant renewal dates if you don’t anticipate renewing.

What is InstaVR Enterprise? How much does it cost? 2017-12-28T17:26:59+00:00

There is no standard InstaVR Enterprise offering. InstaVR Enterprise takes our Pro version, and customizes it to your specific needs. Some of the different features that could be included as part of an InstaVR Enterprise purchase include:

– Multiple Pro account purchases for a single company
– Access to the InstaVR SDK for embedding the InstaVR app experience into an existing account
– Customized options within your application (ie time-based navigation links that are completely transparent)
– Customized distribution outside of the normal channels

What is the difference between InstaVR’s free version and paid Pro version? 2017-12-28T17:19:42+00:00

The free version is limited in its capabilities, and is designed for users new to VR who want to test out the platform for 30 days.

Any time you see a purple “Pro” button next to a feature, that is reserved for our Pro customers. There are too many Pro-only features to list, but some of the biggest differences are:

– InstaVR Pro removes the InstaVR watermarking from your 360 panos and the InstaVR logo from your splash screen
– Apps in the free version are limited to 100 MB and 5 total scenes. With Pro, you can make apps up to 2GB (or greater for certain VR headsets) and with no limit on scenes.
– Pro allows you to publish to HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, Google Daydream, and more than 2 Gear VR headsets
– Pro allows you to publish your apps to iTunes, Google Play, and the other major Stores
– Pro allows you to embed your WebVR and self-host it on your site
– Pro allows you to collect and view Heatmap data, as well as tie your apps into Google Analytics for statistics on interaction with navigation links, hotspots, etc.

How do I upgrade to InstaVR Pro? 2017-12-28T17:06:29+00:00

Pressing any of the purple Pro buttons in your Console will take you to our upgrade page. Payment for monthly recurring or annual subscriptions can be done via Credit Card or PayPal. In certain circumstances, we can also accept annual payment via Bank Transfer.

How do I convert 3840×3840 video into 4028×2048 or 3840×2160 video? 2017-12-28T16:53:10+00:00

A: Yes, you can do that by using InstaVR’s “Compose” feature that is accessible from the “Compose” tab of each scene. You can re-size, change bitrate and change profile video from the GUI, and our high cloud converter can do it instead of wasting time learning new video converter tools.

360 VR Video: What does 4K video support mean? 2017-12-28T16:51:26+00:00

InstaVR supports 4K videos recommended by Oculus, such as

  • Suggested Monoscopic Configuration: 4096×2048 video at 30 FPS, encoded with H.264.
  • Suggested Stereoscopic Configuration: 3840×2160 video at 30 FPS, encoded with H.265/VP9 10-20mbps bitrate.

You can see https://developer.oculus.com/blog/introduction-to-360-video-for-gear-vr/ for more details.

In performance perspective, the iPhone 7s is less powerful than Galaxy S7 Edge so “3840×2160 video at 30 FPS, encoded with H.265/VP9 10-20mbps bitrate” is a very challenging resolution for iPhone S7.

4K 360 VR video looks a little bit fuzzy. How do I fix this? 2017-12-28T16:43:00+00:00

A: Turn Distortion Correction OFF
Some 360 video players don’t apply “Distortion Correction”, so it looks clear. However, you’ll have a stretched unnatural view when putting on the VR headset.
InstaVR applies “Distortion Correction” by default, and it make the view little bit fuzzy but natural feeling, when putting on the device into headset.

If you don’t care about a natural VR experience, you can turn Distortion Correction off in “Branding” tab.

GearVR 18432 × 1536 images are a little bit fuzzier than Oculus 360 Photos. Why? 2019-04-12T08:06:52+00:00

This issue has been fixed with latest InstaVR.

Previously InstaVR had used “safe and fastest” anti-alias quality and texture filtering method by default, that’s why the rendering result get relatively “fizzy” or “blurred” than other Gear VR apps.

InstaVR’s default setting is updated to user “best quality” by on anti-alias quality and texture filtering, now.

Additionally, InstaVR supports more higher resolution such as 24576 x 2048, 49152 x 4096, etc. than 18432×1536 that is maximum resolution of other Gear VR app.

So user get much more crisp / sharp rendering result now.

My Gear VR App doesn’t launch. “Oculus Update Required. To learn How to the update Oculus app.” is displayed. What do I do? 2019-04-12T08:10:50+00:00

This is a Gear VR firmware issue. Gear VR requires the latest firmware to launch any Gear VR apps. Please connect to the internet and update your Gear VR app.

Is There an Educational Discount for Using InstaVR in Classrooms? 2019-10-18T00:59:58+00:00

InstaVR does offer educational discounts. The discounts are based on # of student accounts and length of subscription (either monthly, for a set # of months, or annual). For larger classroom purchases, we can also potentially tailor the InstaVR solution to fit your budget (ie include only a small watermark in the corner, etc)

Generally speaking, our standard educational discount is 50% off Annual pricing for InstaVR Pro.

How do I test HTC Vive or Oculus Rift? 2017-12-27T16:26:57+00:00

Q: I used the free version of your product, but before we make a decision on purchasing I need to be able to demo the vive workflow. I saw that working with the HTC vive on InstaVR requires the Pro version. Is there any way I could demo the Pro version of InstaVR to test the vive workflow?

A: Currently HTC VIVE and Oculus Rift are only for PRO users. You can subscribe for a 1-month period by subscribing monthly and then cancelling your subscription immediately.

Is There a One-Shot (= No Subscription Based Tier) Upgrade Option? 2017-12-27T16:12:55+00:00

Unfortunately, that’s not available. But you can subscribe for just one month by subscribing to monthly PRO and then cancelling monthly subscription immediately.
